Spartan Sweeps 09'

Race Results have been posted

The 8th Annual Spartan Sweepstakes Regatta, hosted by the Burnt Hills Rowing Association, will be held Sunday October 4th, 2009.

Due to the request of many, this year the regatta will be held on a shortened 3700 meter race course. Starting in the historic stockade district of Schenectady, NY, the race will wind its way through Schenectady and Scotia coming to an end in Alplaus, NY. In addition, we will be offering the boys and girls challenge eights at the end of the day.

For those interested, these 2 events will feature the full 12K race course that many of you have been a part of in the past. We hope you will be able to join us on the 4th for the Spartan Sweepstakes Regatta.BoatHouse Sweeps 07'

This exciting race will again provide an excellent venue for the less experienced rowers to test their metal and a real endure for more experienced rowers. Are these rowers in shape and up to the physical and mental challenges? You can't easily train for this exciting and endurance-testing race. Based on last year's races, the many rowers from schools that participated thoroughly enjoyed the day, crossing the finish line with their heads held high (their arms and legs exhausted).

We had many new teams attend last year's race. The weather was outstanding; cool Adirondack morning, clear-dark blue sky and the fall foliage was at about 40% peak color.Blue Heron seen on the Mohawk during Sweeps 07'
